What’s the worst habit for sleep quality?

Hands down, the habit that wrecks sleep the most is messing with your natural sleep schedule. Staying up late scrolling on your phone, binge-watching shows, or going to bed at completely different times each night confuses your body clock. I’ve seen people think they can “catch up” on sleep over the weekend, but it rarely works — your body thrives on consistency.

Other big culprits include:

  • Late caffeine or sugary drinks: That afternoon coffee or evening soda can sneakily keep you wired.

  • Screens right before bed: The blue light from phones, laptops, or TVs tells your brain it’s still daytime, making it harder to fall asleep.

  • Stress and racing thoughts: Going to bed with your mind buzzing can make you toss and turn for hours.

Honestly, even small changes help. Moving bedtime earlier, dimming the lights, putting your phone away, and taking a few minutes to breathe or journal can dramatically improve your sleep quality.
